The folks from Mountain View have been on a roll lately, and they aren’t slowing down anytime soon. Today Google has just updated their popular Google Search app with tons of improvements to the amazing Google Now. We’ve been talking about a Google Now widget lately, and today they’ve delivered exactly that along with multiple other new features. Read on for the full details.

Google Now just keeps getting better and better. It’s arguably becoming one of the best and most used features of Android, at least on my devices, and this will only make it readily available to more users. Today they’ve introduced a Google Now Widget (Android 4.1 and above) that can be easily used and accessed on any homescreen, as well as with Android 4.2 lockscreen widgets.

That isn’t all either. Google didn’t just stop there, they added multiple other new features that makes Google Now even more powerful than before. You can enjoy movie passes from Fandango, movie reviews right in search results from Rotten Tomato, and even Zillow real estate listings. Here’s the full changelog of what’s new with Google Search and Now:

– Google Now widget for home screen or lock screen
– Movie passes from Fandango
– Movies now includes ratings from Rotten Tomatoes
– Real estate listings from Zillow when in the market for a home
– Music button when a song is playing in voice mode (US only)
– Support for US college sports

Last week US College sports started arriving for those looking for NCAA Basketball teams and such, but so far we still aren’t seeing football teams. Hopefully they’ll arrive in time for the season. Google states they now support US college sports, but not all have been implemented yet. There also seems to be some new features while enjoying music, but I’ve yet to see that button appear in Google Now.

First Android 4.2.2 and now Google Search gets a massive update adding a few awesome and much anticipated new features. Keep up the good work Google! Get the all new Google Search and Google Now from the Play Store or the link below. Enjoy!

  1. ” It’s arguably becoming one of the best and most used features of Android, at least on my devices…”
I guess it’s hard to argue that it’s not one of the most used features on YOUR device, but you go from pretty general to pretty specific there.

  2. Well though the article is nice (appreciate it) you actually missed the most important feature in this new update.
New Google Search allows any Android Developer to use offline voice recognition within their application and just IMMMMAAAAAAGINNNNNE what that can do. You better add that too.

The only app I’ve seen so far to use this feature is UTTER.
and i tell thats the BEST voice recognition apps i have used ever in my 2-3 years of android usage. Its KICKA*S an fells the same after trying all that borin, error prone , all copy, voice assistants.
