Google is our Bestfriend. This statement doesn’t need much explanation but for the sake of those people who don’t believe in the power of the top search engine, know that it has already licensed LyricFind for search results. Yup, for you who are addicted to the latest pop songs, LyricFind may be your bestfriend. The search engine has just announced that it has licensed the website to display song lyrics on the SERPs.

This news benefits not only Google and LyricFind but also songwriters and publishers who want to earn some as this can be a source of revenue. In a multi-year licensing deal, the two companies decided to show lyrics searched for right on the search results so there’s no need to click on another website. You can see the lyrics on the page or you may still click on the link going directly to LyricFind. The feature is available in the United States but Google and LyricFind should be able to show the lyrics internationally.

We have no idea how publishers or songwriters or even LyricFind will earn from this but obviously, they will be able to earn some dollars. With the volume of searches being made every single day, we can expect millions of added earnings. The lyrics are also available within Google Play Music.

Darryl Ballantyne, LyricFind co-founder shared in an interview with Billboard:

“I can’t get into the rates, but we expect it to be millions of dollars generated for publishers and songwriters as a result of this. It’s all based on usage. Royalties are paid based on the number of times a lyric is viewed. The more it’s viewed, the more publishers get paid.”

LyricFind is the biggest lyric licensing service in the Internet today. This deal with Google will further expand its reach and the available lyric offerings for all the music lovers out there.
