Earlier this morning it was an unboxing image out of Ireland and now it looks like we have a Nexus 5 sighting coming out of Taiwan. This latest doesn’t appear to be a final model, but instead an earlier prototype model. That being said, this one has come by way of the NCC, which is similar to what the US has with the FCC.

This particular filing shows the front and back of the handset, and as you will likely notice — there isn’t the giant Nexus branding across the back. The camera lens and flash remain and otherwise, there was a shot that pegs the microUSB charging port and speakers on the bottom of the phone. But given the number of leaks, neither of those bits come as much of a surprise.

The other bit we are seeing here is an image of the battery, which is shown to be a 2300 mAh.This sighting combined with the battery leak from last week, and it seems safe to say the 3000 mAh battery rumors have been proven false. Otherwise, the handset is sporting a model number of LG-D821, which again, should be familiar for anyone that has been following the Nexus 5 leaks.

Basically, what this NCC sighting does is provide one additional bit of evidence that the launch is getting closer. Again, the latest rumors are suggesting an October 31 or November 1 unveil. The Nexus 5 will be arriving with Android 4.4 Kit Kat and otherwise, the specs are still pointing towards a 5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 800 processor and 8 megapixel rear-facing camera.

Aside from the Nexus 5, there has also been some recent chatter about another Nexus 4 variant. An October 25th sighting showed a Nexus 4 with LTE making an appearance with the Bluetooth SIG. We remain unconvinced Google would launch such a Nexus 4 at this point, but we suppose given a low price point, there would likely be some interest.
