Google Maps Updated to Support New Latitude Check-In Features

Google Maps is by far the most used maps application on the Android Platform, it offers up the most refined user experience and even some features that are usually cost a premium. Well, the application has just been updated to version 5.1.0, and with the update many new features have been added.

Google Maps is becoming more and more focused on Google’s Latitude service as they prepare it as a competitor for Foursquare. You will be able to automatically check-in to places dierectly from Google Maps as well as adjust check-in settings. With all these updates to both Latitude and Maps, Google is clearly ready to enter to social check-in market. And this is why we think they’ll win.
