Google Maps adds multitouch, Google gives MT keys to manufacturers

An updated version of Google Maps (3.4.0) is now available in the Android Market.

Additionally, Google will release Android 2.1 Update 1, which will allow handset manufacturers to add multitouch to the browser, maps, and gallery on any device with compatible hardware, according to PC Magazine.

    i hope my g1, without a working touchscreen, gets the 2.1 update with multitouch!

    dunno about anybody else, but i installed the new version of maps and it's not doing any multitouch for me...i'm on cm4.2.14.1 and of course it has multitouch in the browser...

    its because youre still on the 1.6 software.

    installed it on one of my eclair roms, (2.1) and it works fine.

    Try flashing this if you are rooted. Use the first download option. Its for 1.6 firmware... Also AC and I am not responsible if you brick your phone. Also make sure to run a backup before you run this just in case.

    I have this on my phone now and its great. I just cant seem to figure out how to turn on night mode... Any suggestions?

    nightmode is automatic for the navigation

    yeah, looks like it's 2.0/2.1 only, which i should've mentioned. wasn't sure at the time, and wanted to get the info up.
