Git Media might not be a name you’ve heard much in the world of Android but they look to be changing that with the announcement of two new Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets. The Git Surge and the Git Pro. Both of these tablets feature impressive and standard Honeycomb tablet specs and both offer dual-core performance, the difference here is they come with a 250GB hard drive for extended storage capacity yet stay relatively cheap and are just $479 — More details below.

The Git “Surge” will run on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core 1.0 Ghz processor and the “Pro” will be powered by the Samsung Exynos processor found in the Galaxy S II. Are they saying the Samsung version is better since it’s the Pro and the NVIDIA model isn’t? Just a thought. The spec rundown on both devices is identical other than the color and processor so I’ll hit that all in one run.

-10.1-inch 16:9 touchscreen (1280X768)
-Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb)
-250GB internal HDD
-1GB RAM
-5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera
-Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, optional 3G
-Built-In Speakers and Microphone
-3.5mm headphone jack
-USB Port, Micro SD, and Mini USB Port

Sadly I don’t notice anything regarding HDMI-out, a feature I’m sure most users would like to take advantage of especially with those powerful dual-core processors capable of full 1080p media playback and more. These tablets have mighty impressive specs, along with a 250GB hard drive for all the storage one would ever need yet they cost the same price as many current Honeycomb tablets available today — $479 and will come with a free leather case.

The Git Surge and Pro might be a bit thicker and heavier than say the Galaxy Tab 10, and come in around a half inch thick and 22oz. (1.3 lbs) they sure offer a great overall package at an exceptional price. I’m looking forward to hearing more about both of these tablets. They are available for pre-order at the source link below and come with a few free goodies and a 3-year warranty.

Update: Order with caution as we’ve never heard of these guys and the about me page sure looks interesting with zero info. We are reaching out and will report back shortly

  1. “A 1280X768 capacitive HD wide screen, 1GB RAM, Honeycomb 3.0 and many other options that GIT feels are standard like WI-FI (3G optional), USB support, HDMI output, GPS, Bluetooth and the list goes on….”
From their home page, has HDMI out.

  2. I been noticing samsung trying to out tegra as second class, well heres some special facts, the galaxy R aka the galaxy 2 with tegra 2 internals scored 3600 & 3800 on quadrant & that being the tegra just a 1 ghz dual core cpu with an 8 core gpu. You can youtube “galaxy R review” & another crazier option is taking the tegra 2 & overclocking it up to 1.2 ghz to match the exynos 1.2 ghz clock speed … Well guess what I overclocked the tegra 2 up to the same speed of the exynos which is 1.2 ghz & guess what? The phone with the tegra 2 was the atrix & it has a qHD screen! Guess what the score was? it scored 3700 with a high res screen not that low res which gives it an extra thousands points on quadrant!, so even with a qhd a year old phone, it puts to bed all thabout exynos being better. Another thing is the tegra games don’t even need close to 2500 points to play games at smooth fps’s & they don’t glitch like the mali 400 does in large open landscapes as on exynos “better, pro” version. I’m going to be the one to post up all the youtube vis to clear up all that BS. People spend hundreds based on lies…has a we HD sven
