Coming a few weeks after images of the Geeksphone Revolution leaked, we are now getting a look at some officially released images. Those pics, along with confirmation of the specs have been dropped by the folks at Geeksphone. The Revolution is a dual-boot smartphone and will be running Android and Firefox OS. And as we are seeing confirmed today, this Revolution will be powered by Intel.

More specifically, the Geeksphone Revolution will be powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor. The handset will have a 4.7-inch IPS display along with 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a microSD memory card slot (with support for cards up to 32GB in size). Other specs include a 2000 mAh battery, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and 8 megapixel rear-facing camera.

As one would expect and/or hope to see, the basics such as WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, headphone jack and micro USB are also included. Otherwise, network connectivity is listed as follows;

  • HSPA/WCDMA: 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100MHz
  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900MHz
  • HSDPA up to 21Mbps / HSUPA up to 5.76Mbps
  • GPRS Class 12 / EDGE Class 12

In addition to the images and specs, there was also some talk of the price and availability. Details here were shared by Geeksphone CEO Rodrigo Silva-Ramos by way of the company forums. The price is expected to be a bit higher than €200, which would have the price sitting at just about $270 in terms of US dollars. Lastly, the Revolution is expected to begin shipping relatively soon, on February 14.
