Android fans all around the world are looking forward to the launch of the Galaxy S IV smartphone on Thursday. So far, we’ve seen some details of the smartphone leak ahead of the Unpacked event where the phone will go official. Some new details from China have leaked showing what appears to be an S IV test device in the wild.

The screenshots of the device list the name GT-I9502. The images show a smartphone that doesn’t look that much like what we’ve seen in other leaked photos over the last few weeks claiming to be the S4. Sister site SlashGear reckons that what we might be seeing is Galaxy S IV hardware packed inside of a case that closely resembles the Note II style to keep a low profile during device carrier testing.

  1. Like the post says, the case is probably temporary to throw people off. I’m definitely looking forward to this phone.

  2. holy crap, NOOOOOO!!!
SAMSUNG, say that it’s NOT Galaxy SIV!

BTW SAMSUNG hides away the real GS4 pretty nice this year.;)
But Galaxy SIII was not revealed before its launch in 2012 too.)

It’s a very important launch for SAMSUNG of a very important product.

I hope for 2 squarish minimalistic METAL Galaxy SIV: aluminum silver and graphite.
Metal numbers “4” on SAMSUNG’s Time Square teaser ads give me this hope.:)

What’s the point to make ads with 2 silver/graphite METAL “4” in the middle of them and show THIS GSIII-ish GSIV?=)

    • Last year they hid the Galaxy S III in cases that weren’t the real design to throw leaks off and potential eyes on the lookout. I have a feeling we won’t see it until the 14th.
