After the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ got high marks on DxOMark, here’s another Samsung Galaxy device that’s been making a lot of phone owners happy: the Galaxy Note 5. The latest phablet from the South Korean tech giant is also getting positive reviews as expected from any premium Samsung flagship. This new Note was introduced together with the S6 Edge+.

On DxOMark, the phablet was recently given a high score of 85. That’s only a two point difference from the top rankers namely the S6 Edge+ and the Sony Xperia Z5. The Note 5 is now ranked No. 3 following the Galaxy S6 Edge and right after the Google Nexus 6P.

DxOMark Mobile Photo Score is an impressive 87. The results of the camera are good in either good or low light conditions. In bright conditions though, there is a tendency for over exposure but the HDR mode should already fix the tone. In most conditions, colors are pleasant. Capturing images indoors with tungsten usually results to some visible color shading. Noise is obvious in areas of blocked color images.

Flash performance is good enough. Not really impressive but respectable according to DxOMark. Details are preserved when flash is used. Under a tungsten light source again, the white balance can turn into yellow.

When it comes to video recording, the Note 5 is great for watching videos even under low light conditions. But usually, videos are great because of the exposures. White balance and video rendering are also good ,as well as, autofocus performance.
