What else can I do with this thing?

Ive had 93 different model phones now. So yeah, Ive had a couple sidekicks. I had an LX before the G1. Y?

I think HelloAIM on the G1 comes pretty close to sidekick AIM experience (aside from backend keeping messages till you get your service back part and the chatrooms stuff), if you haven't yet, download that app and give it a go. I really don't 'miss' sidekick too much, I mean I've been able to do a lot more now on the G1 than before, so I'd say although the Sidekick had a great go, it seems behind the times now. After 6 years of sidekicks since the b&w, I grew out of them I suppose. :]

I don't think you will get it, but cannot be 100% sure. Do a search, I remember it being mentioned somewhere

It really depends what I do with it. I can kill it in 3.5 hours or I can make it last 24!

With moderate use, 6-8 hours is pretty realistic.

Basically have access to all the system files using a terminal (same as cmd in Windows). Doesn't harm your phone but you won't get the OTA updates
