Now don't get me wrong, I had the Original b&w/greyscale screen sidekick and had bought sk2, sk3, sklx as they came out. But ever since I've gotten the G1 I can't help but compare it to the sidekicks. There is SO much more freedom now that with Danger OS powered devices. Open source + great developer community really make the hidden geek inside me squeel with joy every time something new is achieved with regular members on the Android OS. Ever since I've rooted the phone the amount of things I've done with it has grown exponentially. I honestly can not go back to the closed OS system I got so used to with sidekicks. Granted Sidekicks have the IM apps that work flawlessly with the danger back end through Data, but thats about all I can see positive about the sidekicks anymore. The latest model is what the Sidekick LX update should have been. Enough of my long winded post, anyone else agree/disagree? Would love to hear ex-sidekickers chime in on this.
I haven't had much time to play with my G1 in a long time since starting my second job, and both my computers broke. fml but I agree with you 100%. Since im not able to use my G1 the way you are I've been using my LX09 a lot more. Im saving up for a new laptop, ill be back on my G1 asap, and ill be the geek I once was. I can't wait
