small light box?

Hey I just saw on the strobist blog they posted using the mylight app on the iphone as a small light since it puts off a nice soft light that is almost daylight balanced, anyone tried this with any of the flashlight apps on the G1? I'm gonna try it but just saw it and not near home to play with it.
