You could argue that Playstation ripped off the XBox Live idea. PS2 had online play, but it was very limited compared to XBox Live...

They didn't rip anything off, it's just natural progression in technology. I am really looking forward to the new interface. I've owned both the PS3 and 360, and prefer the 360.

i am very excited about the new desktop we will have!!! the best part is... if you have the netflix service you can invite someone to watch a movie with you!!!! how great is that!!!

No, actually they didn't. What is there about NXE that has ripped off Playstation Home? You know what else if funny about PS Home other than it being useless? Is that they just announced they are going to launch it the same day NXE is going to launch. Seriously Sony just give up.

here is no denying that the graphics are incredible, especially as you stare out of the windows and look at a photorealistic environment. However, as we noticed several other beta players saying in chat balloons to each other, "This is pretty cool, but there's not really anything to do here."

It's a great option to play mini-games on your PS3, but I mean I'd rather save that for my Wii.

@ Hyperdroid. to answer your question, you can go into a Party (its Private Chat for upto 8 Friends) and you can chat together, share photos and play games, even if you are all playing different things !

So to answer your question, yeah you can, there is 8 person "party mode" private chat

And regdent, dont be a fanboy. the NXE, although it has the Tabbed type interface similar to PShome. its nothing like and doesnt try to be !
the interface is used mainly for its Simple yet effective looks and usage !
