Default Windows 7... is Actually Windows Vista + KDE

As we all know, Windows 7 is Microsoft's shiny new OS. Microsoft tells us that the kernel is the same as Vista's kernel, but the appearance has changed somewhat: (link)

Now let's see where Microsoft has been getting its inspiration from: (link)

I got curious, so I installed Windows 7 myself. Here's KDE 4.2 RC, with Virtualbox running Windows 7 in seamless mode: (link)

    Good stuff, eh?

Yep... it's pretty good compared to Windows Vista -- lower RAM requirement, snappier performance, and stuff all made the virtualization experience smoother.

Yup, and they got the idea of widgets from that simple HTML bar. Apple and Palm came up with similar small softwares they called Desktop Accessories too.
