Question What happened to the Android Community???

We were doing so good before the launch. Anticipation and camaraderie filled the forum as people couldn't wait to get their G1's.

Then the mega UPS thread came and tension started to arise leading into the euphoria of the I Got Mine thread.

Not even a week into launch and these boards are now filled with the same questions being asked repeatedly along with the same complaints being mentioned repeatedly.

Personally, I love this device, been waiting for this for over a year. I knew EXACTLY what it could and could not do. I read every spec doc and article then made an educated choice based on my information and purchased this device. When I received it on the 20th, there were absolutely zero surprises. And guess what, it did exactly what I thought it would. I was not SHOCKED that the camera didn't have a flash, or that there was no video out of the box. I also didn't feel the need to post about all of these things I ALREADY KNEW it couldn't do.

I think I will sign off for a week or two until all the crybabies return their G1's and all the newcomers get a chance to RTFM instead of posting endless topics about how to add a widget to the home screen and how the battery doesn't last long enough.

    See you guys later.

Oh, and when in doubt... long-press.

Please provide an example of when we "delete at will." I have only deleted spam or duplicate posts since I've been here.

As far as the influx of repeat posts, it is due to a much higher number of users on the forums than before, and lack of search button usage. We're doing our best to keep up with repeat posts and moving threads where we should.

    I like that

And sorry, but this would be more related to site feedback, so I'm moving it.

Please note, stillmackn, this is being moved not deleted at will.

Delete at will? I have never seen that before. Sometimes they would merge threads together, but that's about it.

Anyway, I think people here have been realistic about the G1. But you can't find out everything about it no matter how hard you tried. For example, how was I supposed to find out that there's no Delete button? I was rather shocked to find out we get only Backspace and Line Delete.

We're trying our best to keep up with the high influx of members joining over the last few weeks. It would really help if the members searched a bit (http://androidcommunity.com/forums/search.php) before opening a new thread. Chances are, the question has already been answered.
