Ugh..almost bought a Sidekick

IDK what was wrong with me today....

So I pass by a T-mobile store and saw an add for the Sidekick 08..so I made up my mind

That I would buy one.

I wanted to keep my G1 too though...

I guess you can say that I've been going through AIM withdrawels.

Make a long story short, I realized how overpriced the sidekicks are and how dumb it would have been to pay that much plus a bill just for AIM.

I felt better though cuz I knew I had the better phone.

The sidekick had a closed OS, no ringtone maker, old school internet, non-threaded txts etc..

So I re-realized that i can live without reliable IM.

However I do understand that the G1 is not a Danger device.

So every day I look in the app store to see if meebo has an update for a non-foreclosing app...

Then the phone will be complete for me.

Any advie on keeping it connected?

Am i the only one having AIM withdrawels?

um no im not. cause i talk to most people through sms.

I see your point.

I've never texted so much. Especially with threaded txts (which I love)

Its just that the G1 acts up when u get too many txts. With a data IM it wouldn't be that hectic.

wait, what problems do you have? last months text usage was around 5k. never had any issues.

Just bugs mainly.

When I get around 200 txts the phone starts lagging and the home screen forecloses.

I mean a quickfix is just deleting them.

Ill just wait for an update I guess.
