Tweets via google talk?

Can I receive twitter tweets via my phone's google talk client? What about getting them sent to a gmail account email address? I'd rather have my tweets go to something other than SMS and I'm looking for options.

Try twittd, but it seems to be down right now. It lets you receive tweets from IM clients such as google talk.

Yeah, but I like to get all my incoming stuff in one place. Twitroid works good for me and I don't have any other issues with it, but my preference would be to get it in my gmail. I like the search and archive that gmail offers, and I could easily place the tweets in their own folder/label so it won't clutter up my inbox, if there was only a way to get the tweets directly to my address.
