Um, just an idea... you can just log into your t-mobile and change the address, order, then change it back. Thats what i did. No problems.
I've been very excited for the pass couple of days now knowing that any day soon I will be getting my G1 in the mail.. So today I called tmobile to check my status update things on my account and then I find out from the rep that due to a error " The Reps error " I will not recieve my package cause the rep never changed the shipping address..
So when i said " ok.. since it has'nt shipped out yet can you change it since the guy made a mistake "
Rep - Sure but its going to be a upfront cost to you that you must pay now...
The rep from before never told me that in order to have it shipped to somewhere not on your billing address they charge you... So I refused to pay because some guy Foul'd up!! Its crazy.. I told CS that if he would have told me that before I would have said ok but now i cant afford the upfront cost cause of bills...
So why should I suffer... The billing address is my home back in nyc.. due to work I wont be back in ny until march of 09'.. all i want is it to be shipped to my current apt. in nj!! WTF tmobile !)@I@#Q$@#$@
this is really BS, and I have no one that can sign for it and ship it to me
F Tmobile!! thanks for letting me rant

They said I cannot cancel my order unless it was 1hr after it was placed.. Then said I can refuse the package.. Im like I wont be there to recieve it and if I was I would be happy that I got it..
Is it already in the UPS system or still at t-mobile? Just asking because i was just on the phone with them today as i might be moving before my replacement comes in- the rep said that as soon as they have a tracking number, i only need to call CS and tell them to get UPS to reroute. He said no first delivery would need to be made so long as i did it through t-mo. Also, that i could have the option to either have it held, sent back immediatly for a re-order OR have it routed to my location. Have you given then your present address as well? i have like 3 addresses on file with t-mo and have items going to all of them at any time no upfront costs. Try changing your address- THEN get hold of customer service about the package- just trying to help. Oh, and you dont have to be there to refuse. UPS WIL NOT leave your phone there if there is no one to sign for it. It will be returned to sender.
Not to throw fuel to the fire but UPS left mine at the door without a sig.
They had my new address before I ordered my G1, and the rep told me today that It never went through.. I was like so I have to suffer cause one of your reps messed up and didnt update my account. Im going to ask a friend if he can take my spare key and stay at my place until it comes and then ship it to me asap.. Cause im not getting any vacation time anytime soon =\
This is what another user did to get his right away even though he preordered his phone:
So apparently they just want to make sure that they are getting there money somehow. If you just cancel the order then there is no guarantee that you'll still purchase the phone instore unless you are there. If you haven't gotten help by now, here's what I did- went to tmobile store, they gave me customer service number and I called right there while I was in the store. I spoke to a woman and told her id like to canel my order, get my 2 year ext contract back, and have the money credited back onto my credit card. I had the woman put 'notes' on my account of the transaction & there were no problems. I got it right there after I got off the phone, asif I had never pre ordered to begin with. Hope this helps!

as of now t-mobile is saying you cannot cancel preorders period... and as far as refusing the shipment, if i were t-mobile i would be worried about giving you two full discounts on a phone if you curiously decide not to refuse the package after purchasing one in store
Buy the rumor, Sell the news.
(this is unethical)
You should have called UPS and asked for your package... because you never signed for it so it was never received...
The UPS guy probably fudged you sigi anyway... you have nothing to lose... and possibly gain a free G1...
Basically stand your ground... and say "I never received my phone, where is your proof?"
Some people need to be taught a lesson... if your phone was stolen from in front of your house they would say to you.... "I delivered it" and walk away... so f*** them back... its all insurance anyway... thats why it is added to shipping cost...
