forgive me. but wouldn't that be hideously ugly?
ummm it is kinda easy but not easy to explain.
Okay, so I have had Photoshop CS3 for a while now and have never used it, thus never really understood the software. I am trying to do something that I assumed would be simple but find myself cussing at my computer because I just cannot figure it out. So if anyone has any experience with this software I would greatly appreciate your help. So what I am trying to do is merge my two favorite teams icons, the Dallas Stars and the Florida State Seminoles. I was thinking I would just cut both of them in half diagonally, match them up, and bam, I'd have it. Turns out its not that simple (or maybe it is and I'm just THAT simple minded.) If you can help me that'd be great, or if its just faster for you to do it, whatever works!
Here are the two icons:

I'm not exactly going for looks, just trying to make an avatar that shows my two favorite teams rather than just being able to show one. I guess "merge" was a bad word to use though. I don't know quite how to explain it, but just diagonally cut the two photos in half and then butt the two halves together. Again, not really going for the cosmetic aspect, just for the usefulness. Maybe if it was done in grayscale it might be better because the colors wouldn't clash as much. I'm not much of an "artist" when it comes to these things, I was just trying to think of a way to effectively show the two teams I follow the most.

Slightly off-topic, but I just wanted to say Roll Tide. The Gaytors are going down this weekend.
Oh, and Tebow wears Jorts.
