I need help.... And suggestions

Ok so this is off topic, but that's what this forums for right? anywho recently my mother and I lost are home due to some financial problems and along with it my internet. Were currently staying at a friend of my mothers and renting a room from her. I've tried to ask the lady if I could use her internet connection but she insist that I pay 50% of her bill and purchase a wireless router(I honestly don't know why I can't use a hard wire connection). My question is what alternatives do I have? I've looked at Xohm and other Wimax providers but sadly they don't provide in my area. Does any one have any ideas or solutions?

i was just using it today since the wifi at the mall i work at pretty much has EVERY website on lockdown.

got a modem? you could use free dial up, and install apps from your SD card. i don't know how you'd access the market, though...
