So occasionally we have to talk about something other than android phones....and this is one of those times....
So my brother wanted to know excatly how many shamwows it would take to soak up all the water in the oceans so here is what he did and his results. (he posted them on facebook. you can also follow him on twitter his screen name is mdhugo
"I attempted to figure out how many Shamwows it would take to soak up the ocean. My work and results are below: Assuming there are 36614237300000000000000 gallons of water on earth (http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/o...er_amount.html) and 97% of the earth is covered by some sort of ocean that means there are 35515810200000000000000 gallons of water in all of the oceans. (97 percent of 36614237300000000000000 = 3.55158102 × 10^22). The Shamwow claims it can hold 20x it weight in water. The only definitive number I can find for the wright of a Shamwow is 2.5 ounces (http://www.wicu12.com/news/index.vns...e=does_it_work). Given both of these items each Shamwow should be able to hold 50 ounces of water (2.5 times 20 = 50). Using my ocean calculations from earlier we can determine that there are 4546023710000000000000000 ounces of water in all of the oceans (35515810200000000000000 US gallons = 4.54602371 × 10^24 US fluid ounces).
Using the number of ounces of water in the oceans divided the amount each Shamwow can theoritically hold I come to the conclusion that is would take 90,920,474,200,000,000,000,000 Shamwows to soak up all of the oceans on earth (4546023710000000000000000 divided by 50 = 9.09204742 × 10^22).

this should be an interesting discussion.
Simms he never responded to me about the questions you asked me on twitter. lol
i thought it would be a much lower number. like 3, or 4. but then i have limitless faith in infomercial products.
Thats great and all but what about the Simpsons episode where Marige doesn't buy the cheap paper Towels and she ends up throwing like 50 into a gorge to soak up all the water?
I think using that product would be a lot cheaper and realistic.
oh, good, my blatant sarcasm did not go unnoticed.
