Good thing the Unions arn't open to negotiations of wage changes etc. to help.
Just heard GM is cutting another 2,000 jobs and stopping production for several weeks.

There are no stupid questions, only people who refuse to use the SEARCH button.
yeah...I read that too. I guess 13.4 billion wasnt enough
I do like this piece though...I would jump all over this:
"The 2,000 workers on the eliminated shifts in GM's Michigan and Ohio plants will be eligible to collect just over 70 pct of their normal wages through benefits provided by GM and state unemployment benefits for 48 weeks, Waun said."

Oh, I'm sorry you enjoyed me on the forums but *susan* has ran me off and should run off other potential awesome members in the future.
If GM had made appealing and innovative cars over the past two or so decades instead of churning out the most hideous, unappealing, fuel inefficient, complete pieces of shiat they might not be where they are now. But no, all they were concerned their executive pay rates and bonuses.
They are where they are at because of the choices they made. When Ford started to clean up their acts in the late 90's and forward and started making better cars GM continued to crap our more crappy cars, end result?
Ford's CEO says they will not need bailout money. They will innovate and be the American car company that succeeded when the others failed, while GM takes our money and fires people anyway. Looks like the executives and the UAW won't be missing their bonuses and luxury vacations this year.
I feel bad really for the people out of their jobs but I won't be sad to see GM go.
You are listening to Rush and Bill O'Crazy way too much, brother. The UAW has made quite a few concessions in the past several years. Prime example: UAW workers have to pay a part of their health benefits (a HUGE part of labor cost for the Big 3) now, which is something the haven't had to do for decades.
At least they're not buying $50,000,000 private jets after being bailed out.
