My new head unit that I just installed has the USB connect for Ipods and such. I was thinking of trying that for my G1. Also to answer the question which is the title of this thread, yes Im very serious about car audio.

For now, I have my phone running to an RCA input. Sounds good but I hate that it just sits in my lap. I really need to find a decent mounting solution.
If you car sound has a bluetooth adapter to play music in an auxiliar mode... wait a lil' and when the cupcake gets out (IF it really ever does), so you'll use no cables and may bed your handset in any part of the car...
If your car sound has an USB plug... just use your USB cable then you do buy a set to keep it (you can adapt car holders from other brands depending on the model)
If you have none from above, don't install it. It sux like that and you'll lose performance depending on the lenght of the cable
sound? meh. I'm all about speed baby. :P
