Umm I like the widgets too, like a weather app...
... gotcha... i know you guys would come here to kill me ...
but this thread is really about what Windows Mobile does better than Android. Of course Android is better than WinMo ... WInMo should not be in the discussion .. if we take care of these few things .. it would just put winmo out of the question... we should only have to compete with RIM and Iphone
The greatest thing about Winmo is customization ... and I was dissapointed to find out that Android is not as customizable as I expected it to be .. here's the list
- Themes.. Winmo is not only themable but you can get programs/shells and set up themes for the 3rd party program... I'd like Android to have a universal theme ... where the themes of the phone is also reflected on the apps (borders... lines, icons etc...)
- Desktop ... Many Winmo programs can run from the Desktop .. you coudl have your calendar.. tasks etc. right non the desktop not jsut widgets... Weather etc.. and this can go along with your themes...
these are just 2 things I think WinMo does better than Android..
PLEASE ADD ON...

I believe Android's time is coming ... It would be unfair to compare Windows Mobile that is present on the market in the last few years vs Android that is present on the market just about 2-3 months.
Good and well made android apps on G1 are more stable and more faster. WinMo has a lot to learn from G1, iPhone and Nokia at this point. However, it gets its piece of cake easily as we know that USA is the country with the most need of the Office Apps that WinMo currently hosts.
Change has come - we just need to see how fast it will conquer and what exactly will be conquered.
T-Mobile US Stock Rom & Android Froyo 2.2 FRG33 (mccm); LinPack 38MP; Quadrant 1750
Themes is the biggest part for me. It's one of the reasons I choose to go for the open platform. I had a T-Mobile Shadow before I got my G1 and I miss the ability to change the themes. I get bored looking at the same thing all the time. And what's with the all black unlock screen??
You're comparing something thats had 8+ years to mature to something thats had a lil over a year since announcement.
WinMo is better @ freezing and crashing for sure
