Default Windows Chinese v. Android Chinese

I have not seen any threads on this particular issue, I've looked, hope I have not missed it.

I have dual language support on my Windows XP System for English and Chinese [PRC].

I have various songs with filenames in Chinese that display properly in Windows and their Song Titles, Album Names, Artist Names appear properly (in Chinese) in Windows Media Player.

However, when I move those files to the Music Folder in the SD of Android G1, the Android Music Player shows complete gibberish (accented western characters instead of Chinese)

Browsing Chinese Web sites works fine.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong, or is this just how the Music Player works at the moment.

P.S. I'm on RC30 in the Android OS

    thanks.

So the browser and instant messaging supports Chinese characters, but the OS does not?

    Probably your "chinese" in Unicode
Try changing your "language in non-Unicode Program" in windows to english, reboot and see if you can still see the chinese

Oh, really? I must have a defective G1 then, because my Chinese and Japanese song titles are showing up just fine
