Will the G1 be SOLD OUT at Tmobile stores come the 22nd????????

Will people camp out for this? Im planning on going on release day at Tmobile stores
I mean no matter what it is , esp. a phone something that you will have to stick with for 2 years, I have to get my hands on it before I make a finalize purchase.

Jorsher-damus doesn't think it'll sell out, but nobody here could tell you. Nobody knows the number of phones that will be released on day one, or what size crowd is interested in getting one.

Here's how I see it:
The phone has not had much offline press. The type of people that are interested in this phone are typically going to preorder it. I wouldn't suggest camping out because I don't think it'll be necessary, but it is really determined on how bad you want it. I would just try to be there when the store opens, maybe get there a little early. If possible, you can talk to them the day before and ask how many phones they have received, and how many people have asked about it. I don't watch TV so don't know if T-Mobile is advertising yet, but if they are you would probably want to get there early.

I don't know if camping will be necessary though. It was only necessary for the iphone because of all the media coverage and hype it received. Ultimately, it's your decision, but good luck!

I'm sure T-Mobile will turn up the marketing knob all the way up shortly before the lauch of the G1...then we'll see.

I found out about the G1 from a TV ad a couple of days ago. Only saw it that once and have not seen it since.

i think there will be a line-up of people waiting for this phone... just like the xbox and the playstation and how can we forget the IPhone... people will camp outside for this phone i know if i aint pre-order it i would be one of thoes people camping outside waiting for hours...

I am not sure if I am correct on this but I possibly heard there are models in 3G stores now that can be looked at and tried out. Can anyone confirm this?

If so drive out to a store play with it and decide if you want to preorder. Just a suggestion.
