Wifi whilst roaming

Hey,

So I've finally gotten my G1 and then flew from the UK to the US on holiday, I've set it to disable data on roaming networks but I have a question.

If I give it a wifi network, will that switch back on normal data roaming (and as a result make me cry with mobile data bills) or would the phone use only the Wifi ?

Seems this person was able to achieve these results by trashing the APN settings.

Why dont you just call your carrier and tell them you will be traveling and what to suspend your data service for the time being. Not only does it save you money but it prevents an accidents with data roaming.
