That's because you need the right player. It was on the Market before so im assuming it will be up soon.
I have followed the instructions of other post. I turn my SD card on for USB Mass storage. I connect my phone and I see the removable drive and the music folder. When I drag my music files there I can see them. When I disconnect and actually go to my phone I can not see them. I am assuming this is because they are MPEG4 music files. Can someone please assist me so that I can get this right?![]()

Thank you. So there is no way to get them to show until the player is there? Do you recall the name of the player?
The player was called v0.1
mp4 is an apple owned format, meaning it's proprietary and is not available on most platforms.
Ok, so what am I to do with the thousands of songs that I have in itunes that are showing as MPEG4 files?
first off, stop buying from iTunes and buy from Amazon instead. Amazon are non-DRM mp3s meaning you can play them in anything.
Search the internet for mp4 to mp3 conversion tools, I'm sure they exist.
Trash itunes because it is such a pain. Buy from amazon. Much easier and you can use your music on anything.
If you like the Itunes interface Amazon will send them over to Itunes, just free of DRM
Until someone builds us a real file explorer the only way you'll see files on the G1 is by having a program that supports them.
