I have a 8gb class 6 and haven't had any issues playing music or video. It's been working great for me.
I have heard of people buying their new 8-16gig cards and finding that their vidoes are choppy w/wo sound or that their music doesnt play right. I am assuming that this has to do with the class of card they bought. Class 4 seems to be a good average...but is it really necessary? Is a class 6 worth it?

I have an 8gb class 8 Music is fine. I haven't tried video.
Class 4 will work fine, the transfer rate is enough for video if you have it encoded correctly.
16gb cards do not yet come int eh higher classes, so I would stick with 8 to be cost effective.
no such thing as "8gb class 8"
i have an 8 gig class 6 and music works well, but i have yet to try video at all on my g1
Class 8? Where on earth did you get that? You must have meant class 6, 8 GB.
I have an old 2 GB from my BB Curve and video takes a while to load, and when I want to forward the movie it takes like 4 seconds to load again - Class 2 FTW!
Here is an article on the class 8 cards
