all i can answer is that all syncing will be done over google apps, there is no way to sync with a computer as of now, someone may make an app for it eventualy
The following are vital questions for me in determining if I'll buy one:
-ALl these questions pertain to whether I'll be able to do the following by the end of the year: (I know not all is fact, but educated speculation is welcome)
1. Telenav
2. Able to sync w/ iTunes playlists (on Mac). As of now, how do you copy iTunes music to the phone? As if its a USB drive?
3. Able to sync calendar w/ iCal (or a better syncing solution for GCal to iCal, which would sync up the phone as well)
4. Flash support in the web browser
5. A2DP
6. Any word/possibility if UMA is supported in the hardware and will be updated to be enabled?
7. How will software updates be implemented? (Software as in the OS)
By the way, I'm coming from an iPhone (on T-Mobile).
Thanks

am almost ceartin i read somewhere that wont be possible at first.......to sync with itunes that is. Able to sync w/ iTunes playlists (on Mac). As of now, how do you copy iTunes music to the phone? As if its a USB drive?
Internet Share Everything
As of now, music will be synced over via USB drive format. You can make playlists to mimic your iTunes playlists using the .m3u format (a simple list of .mp3 file names). I don't think it would be hard to write an Applescript or Automator Action to automate the sync of NEW items over to the card when it's inserted.2. Able to sync w/ iTunes playlists (on Mac). I currently sync iCal with Google Calendar using BusySync ($25). If you also want contacts sync (Address Book to GMail), try out SpanningSync which combines Contacts and Calendars into one app. It's pricey, at $25/year or $65 for lifetime license. They do offer a 15 day trial, which I have utilized to get all my contacts over to GMail to start.3. I am also coming from an iPhone on T-Mobile, and the G1 has me pumped to be able to give up hacking the thing to get it to work.

Yes, I agree, no more hacking the iphone
Just a follow-up:
I've created an Automator Action for iTunes (Mac only, sorry Windows folks) that will parse the contents of any iTunes playlist and copy it to the folder of your choosing. The obvious choice here would be the MicroSD card.
If anyone is interested, I will save the workflow of the action and post it here. Just an FYI, Automator throws an error saying the action couldn't be completed if you don't have a card big enough to hold all of the music in the playlist you are copying...HOWEVER, all of the files copied to that point will still be on the card. Automator won't tell you this, it just complains that it failed, and stops the Action.
I am working on ANOTHER action that will take the names of all of these files and create a .m3u style playlist file so that Android will recognize these playlists.

Snoslicer-
I'm very interested in it. I'm pretty good w/ computers but the one area that I NEVER use or even learned was automator functions. Is it a script I just run and that's it? What's the easiest way to just get my 2 playlists that I have onto the G1 and have the G1 recognize that I have two playlists...?
Thanks
LOL vincent your post makes android look kinda suckish. I have no regrets for preordering tho![]()

Snoslicer, I'm interested in your script. It sounds like the start of a pretty decent solution for handling iTunes-managed music.

I'm wondering who will win the Telenav race first: iPhone or G1..? I'm assuming iPhone because its been out a lot longer, but still there's been nothing on both sides except that "they're working on it."
