I will try to answer the question as best to my knowledge.
Unboxing the G1 phone, there will be no video recording capabilities. Google might update it with a firmware update, but the best bet is for a third party developer to develop an app.
I know for a fact that the T-Mobile G1 has a 3.2MP camera with AF. But i still have a few questions if anyone knows or can answer them, that would be great. Thanks!
Q1: I know the T-Mobile G1 has video playback but does it have video recording?
Q2: If the T-Mobile G1 does not have video recording is there a possible way that there can be an application made to be able to have video recording since there is a camera?
Q3: Does anyone know of any information towards video recording on the phone?
This phone is supposed to be a hit but does not have video recording, it would be nice if it did, &considering its on the new "3G network" it shouldn't be hard to take videos and send them. It would be nice to be able to take video and upload them straight to youtube after taking the video. Maybe its an idea that android developers can look into. Give the people what they want.![]()

Right. The processor in the phone supports it, and there's support in the SDK. This is one of the top requests among users out there (mainly to have a bragging point against iphone, I think...), so it will undoubtedly be developed quickly. Like many things, I'd expect some pretty ugly, barebones solutions to pop up first, followed by some really nice integrated pieces of software once they've had time to be fully developed.

HTC says that a software upgrade will be available for video taking problem and not being able to send MMS messages. Software from outside venders will also be available.
hope we get a video app. =D

It looks like it might have video.

I have personally had one in my hand & it does not have video recording out of the box.
In this case, it looks like the hardware supports video recording, there's just no software (yet). It's like a plane with no pilot. Yes, a plane can fly at mach 10, but it's just going to sit on the ground without a pilot. Yes, the G1 can record video, the hardware (the plane) is there. But, in order to actually record video it needs software ( the pilot) to access that feature of the camera.
