    Question The G1 Feel

Ok so due to me being away at school and my G1 being delivered at my home address I'm without it until Friday so I'm scrapping by with any information that is being posted...So this will be a good one if anyone can help me...I'm switching over from a sidekick LX and am wondering what it feels like typing in comparison to that for example. are the keys much different, does the chin actually get in the way...size weight diff.? any info would help
    thanx

The chin will take some getting used to coming from the tilt. I've never used a sidekick so i dont know. But, the keys feel good and im sure in time i'll adjust.

Size, weight and quality feel very good.

Much different than in the pics so it gives you something to look foward too.

keys are not raised like the lx... you're going to make a few mistakes, initially anyways

Thanks for the prompt reply's guys...can't wait to get my hands on my own Friday afternoon..I'm just wondering how big of a deal the key not being raised for me is gonna be because i like to type without looking and that's a huge advantage

I had a Sidekick 2008, so the chin i am currently getting used to it, but its not too bad.

the keys are not raised like the sk's but really thatsb the only differnce to me.

I'm coming from an mda, and I loved that keyboard. The keys had a nice clicky feel to them. This one is definitely not as good, much softer feel and the keys are just a tad too flush. But the chin is a non issue, you don't even notice it's there (at least for me).

Unfortunately my phone is currently charging, so I can only look at it and smile.

I'm pretty sure that you former sidekick owners should be impressed. The G1 is a very expandable device while the sidekick is very limited in its boundaries. I see it this way if you were comfortable with sidekick's keys then you're going to be surprised how flat the keys of the G1 are, you'll eventually get used to it but definitely a huge difference. The trackball is very convienent also, before I got the phone I thought that I wouldn't need to use it but to my surprise I have been. You're going to definitely love the internet also (what a great browser) the touch screen is really responsive and navigating is very easy. When you get your phone I hope you enjoy this thing as much as I am. (Former Blackberry User!)

Only 3 keys are too flat for me, the others are raised just enough. F R C

I too am coming from the MDA and I'm having a little bit of a hard time adjusting...its not that I don't like the keys, i'm just not used to them yet...still comfortable with something else. -- i'll get it in time

even after 2 days...i'm already making less typos.
