Text messages

Is there anyway to get the text messages grouped by Contact (name) whether it be SMS/MMS/EMAIL. It's a lot more convenient and easier. I think that's the only thing i like about the iPhone is that one feature. Well and a few others i suppose.. the fact that the phone hibernates when you're making a call but when you pull it away from your ear it wakes up. And the music player feature that lowers the volume and the ringtone plays if theres a call or the text sound plays if theres a text message then after you"dismiss" or check it the music returns to full volume.

But anyway instead of running off on tangents, my main concern is the TEXT MESSAGES. Is there anyway to have them grouped by contact name instead of all in 1 inbox and just sorted by what time you received that text message. Any possible way, whether it be firmware update, an application, anything?

Im pretty sure the G1's text messages are "threaded" - which is essentially "grouped by contact"...

Of course... I'm still waiting on my G1... so don't trust anything I say

honestly i have no idea, thats why i'm hoping someone could tell me, i haven't been able to find anything yet telling me whether its "threaded" or not but i'd kill for it to be.

I just looked at the emulator and well it's hard to tell offf there but it looks like it sorted it by contact name & the date but i don't know if you were to say hit the contact number it would show all texts from that person or if it's just that one text. But from the looks of it i'm having a feeling its not threaded.
