Yup tried it and works like a charm, kinda sucks that there is no 3G in my area though.

Well I already had the SDK installed on the linux side of my laptop so installing the proxy.apk onto my phone was easy. I haven't tried it on my windows side though. I can't really imagine it would be that difficult.

Meh, seems like your just taking a big chance and making your phone more open to a lame phone hacker because now that you can use an internet connection from your PC to the phone. Your phone would be like a sitting duck. Woudln't it?

Not necessarily. I used my Dash as a modem almost everyday I was at work and I never had any problems with my phone or my Internet besides it being slow (Im used to high speed Internet).

As true as this is MobileMan, Just because yours wasn't messed with by some hacker doesn't mean someone else hasn't been affected by this or as had it happen to them. Because theres always that chance that it could happen.

Sure, there's a chance your phone could be hacked. There's also a chance that there's life on other planets, BUT WE HAVE YET TO SEE IT.

Number of known incidences of an Android phone being maliciously hacked: zero.

Amount of scary woo-woo "f34r teh hakkuhz!!!111!" commentary in your post: large.

LOL, Believe me there odds of phones being hacked now a days are great. There have been many phones that have been hacked, and if your not familiar with phone hacks, then you wouldn't know what im talking about.

Because just because its called hacking doesn't mean your gonna know your being hacked, I could be sitting right next to you and hacking all the information off your phone and you wouldn't even know it. So thats may main reason for being so worried about hackers. Plus with all the login information that gets put on phones know its scary to think of the stuff they could find out or get into by keylogging our phones.

So im not saying run for the hills were all screwed im just saying its gonna become a high risk thing soon if software doesn't come out to try and prevent it.
