I think hspa 7.2 would be considerably over 1mb. Simms in NYC get over 1mb on 3g.
Does anyone know if Orange County has gotten HSPA 7.2Mbps yet? Looking back through all my speed test results, I do see an increase. In September it was like 450kb/s download, October was like averaged 600kb/s download, and now in December I'm getting like 850kb/s download. I expected a sudden increase in speed if HSPA 7.2 Mbps was online and higher download speeds. Is 850kb/s what I should expect from a 7.2Mbps connection or has it just not been activated yet?

Orange County seems to be HSDPA enabled on the cell sites; HOWEVER backhaul at many sites (data connection from the cellsites to TMO's backbone) are still concentrated T1's. I've seen some sites at 1Mb but normally 800Kb is average. Though I've seen one area in Irvine with 2.2Mb. BTW I was in Northern Dallas yesterday while on a biz trip and got 4Mb/sec when using the G1 with WiFi Tether.
I would assume as they improve the backhaul connections we will see higher performance.
i get very close to 2mb in queens,ny and 1.2mb in brooklyn. thats still 3g . now, that said. there is one, only one place, on the BQE(brooklyn/queens expressway), that i get speeds as high as 4.5mb. i really, really hope that spreads into my area![]()
