    I don't like ATT.

    I hate everything about them.

    They have crappy customer service.

They're always trying to merge with somebody, and they overcharge for hidden crap.

I'd never go back with them again.

    It's called a G1

I agree, I was with ATT for 4 years and never again.

Their lack of quality customer service is the main reason I came to T-mobile and the G1. There wasn't a phone nice enough to even make me think of staying on ATT. Even the G1 wouldnt have kept me there.

Engadget had their "How would you change the G1" article...and it always makes me laugh when someone writes "put it on a good network like ATT or Sprint"

also I find the prices to be ridiculous as well...I am interested to see clarification on his pricing info as it doesnt make sense to me

So...now lets look at this deal again.

You are paying $108.12 more a year for 100 less min a month, 200 less text a month...but you get turn by turn nav.

Garmin stand alone gps 79.99 shipped here

So subtract that and you get roughly the $30 price difference between the phones($28.13)

So assuming that 1. You need turn by turn and purchase a standalone and/or 2. that no one writes a high quality turn by turn for less than $80, the cost pretty much breaks even

However you still get 1200 min less a year (100/month) and 2400 text less a year(200/month)

Ya know...you're right. It does seem like a NO BRAINER

ALSO...where are you getting these prices? Mine are from t-mobile.com. ATT has the Fuze listed for $299 after rebate, granted Amazon has it for 149, so I follow that. However on ATT's website while trying to set up a new line AT&T Navigator is 9.99/month after the first 30 days...No where can I find it included in the cost. Also Amazon and ATT list the Unlimited data plan @ 30.00. This would put the Fuze as much more expensive than you stated.

    Please explain. Thanks
FUZE is 149.99 after MIR on buy.com, amazon.com, newegg.com (no need for more sources); navigator plus mediaNET unlimited coests $20; ATT voiceplan is 10$ expensive (on all plans compared to T-Mobile) BUT what do you get with 10$ cheaper plan? ATT has better coverage, has bettter 3G coverage if you decide to get it; has better choice of the phones - and the best part ROLLOVER MINUTES.

I currently have 700 mins on 2 lines (family plan on tmobile) and I spend maybe 250 minutes on both lines a month - that means that 450 minutes goes on the end of the month and I am paying for them - ATT has rollover - so with my usage I would end up paying 10$ more to have at least 1000 minutes at all times - granted I would not use them all but they are there due to roll-over...

GARMIN wise - if you wanted navigation separately - why do you need GPS in the phone? GPS is most of the times used in GPS navigation purposes therefore being bought for. Well, we do know G1 does not offer GPS for navigation purposes but socializing - which gives us more to think about - definitely great use...

At this moment ATT is more expensive BUT offers better deal on the longer term ...

Creaking phones are just not my thing

Roll over is only good if you come close to your min every month, trust me i know. I never used one rollover min in the 4 years with AT&T lol. I was in one of those in between minute areas, I used too many to move my plan down and not enough for the next one up.

Also I simply included the GARMIN simply to make a point that even if someone did not write a turn by turn Nav app and charge less than $80 for it, you could still break even.

We both know than more than likely after paid apps start we will see a high quality turn by turn especially with Garmin joining the OHA recently...

Same here when I hear people compare t-mobile and Verizon. I'm sure Verizon's coverage is better, but don't live in the jungle so who cares? And when we start talking about pricing, I pay ~$100 for 3 lines while the other guy is paying $150 for 1 line with better coverage and ripoff data plan. $50 for data after tax... lmao
They even charge $9 for 5GB, 25 cents per MB if you want to use tethering.lol

I did not know ATT is so bad - T-Mobile is officially proclaimed to be much worse provider than ATT. It may be your are that was not covered - or you are talking about AT in general... Because if ATT is so bad - I am not going to go with them then.

Coverage wise it was fine, I get T-Mobile 3G coverage everywhere I had AT&T coverage so I don't see any huge advantage to AT&T. However this may not be the same in all area's. I found it to be more expensive and some of the worst customer service I have ever had.

I started with Cingular and then it became the New At&T.

Cingular's customer service was always good to me, I noticed a major decline once it switch to AT&T. Constant battles over the fact that I wanted to use the MediaNet Plan with my BlackJack and not the "Smartphone" Plan...as well as battles over replacement of defective hardware that has still never been resolved, and one of the main reasons I switched to T-Mobile. Customer service means a lot to me...and if I can get it at a lower monthly cost, so be it.

I don't ever expect any company to be perfect. There will be problems, it's how you deal with those problems and how you treat me while doing it that matters to me.

I may be just one bitter ex customer, but maybe you should make a post and see what other ex customers have to say...or better yet go to the forums on AT&T and ask there...I think you will find that I am not alone in my thoughts
