I don't think you'll be dissapointed with the G1 I love it coming from an iphone, and I don't reaally dislike WM either. I looked reaally hard at the touch HD and S.E.X. as its been called, and I can't justify spending the better paart of 1000$ for a freggin phone, the G1 does everything the sony does its just not metal, or a grand lol. Typical sony though... anyways, I say go G1 and if you hate it u atleast won't be losing too much money(I'm sure you will like it though)

Yeah it was a tough call.. I was waiting on the X1, then I heard about the Touch PRO, and then the Dream (g1). All great devices, but really the G1 pricing kind of got me. Those other 2 will be $500+ unlocked and running windows mobile which is already known to have a few problems and let downs.

X1 is too expensive for a WinMo device.
With my past WinMo phones issues, it's a huge deal breaker for me.

If it runs Android, it's a no brainer. 384mb RAM... >_<

I got both, I kinda miss WM with all their apps and the apps I have on my "sd" card. The X1 is a beautiful phone, love it. Will use the G1 again when most of the bugs are fix.

I got it from clove.co.uk, paid total of abouy 750 including shipping. Its a x1I, no tmobile 3g for me. I don't think they are going to release one that is compatible with tmobile so that why I went ahead and order it.

    Xperia runs windows mobile.
So basically you're getting a cool phone with some customized interface but still have the downsides of windows mobile.
Not that android is "super" right now but, for me, I just had enough of winmo.

granted it is winmo (which i'm used to) but the customized interface parts are actually quite impressive... especially on the touch diamond, touch pro etc

man i was in the same boat. when i first heard about the x1 i was going to get it but then they kept pushing it back. the software was buggy, and the price is way to high. but it is a sexy phone. the g1 blows it out the water function wise.

Been a loyal WinMo user since the days of the Jornadas till the Tytn II but MS has fallen behind big time as others are starting to step ahead. Speed and stability was starting to get on my nerves as the consistency was just not there. WinMo 7 isn't suppose to come out till 2010 which doesn't really help much.
