Stuck at android startup screen!!!

I got everything to work, but when i put the folder on my memory card and renamed it to "update.zip" and pressed Alt+S, everything seemed to be working fine until i was stuck at the start up screen with the android guy flashing and it says android next to it. It remained at that screen for like 3 min so i manually took out my battery. im like freaking out lol is that what was supposed to happen!? P.S- I was trying to update to v 1.3 of Jesusfreak's RC30. I must have dowloaded the wrong update folder or something and my phone IS rooted.

did you actually rename it "update.zip" as in did you type .zip after you typed update? if you did you actually named the file update.zip.zip. just rename the file:

I got it to work...i accidently downloaded the v 1.3 ADP1 version w/ no build enviorment so i had to go back and just download the regular RC30 v1.3. Wheww that was close but for some reason im getting a "Error while connecting to server:connection refused" from telnet. hmmmm it used to work and im running Jesusfreak's custom v1.3. do u know how i could fix this?

and why doesnt the home button work with v 1.3?????

I actually have the same question on that. Apparently telnet is useless on rc30. Even if it is a modified version of rc30. Right? Somebody please tell me if I'm wrong.

my home button and green call button dnt seem to be working on modified v1.3..is it just me or is every1 else's the same?

with rc30 you need to use the terminal emulator, the when the $ shows up just type su, when you see # you've got root

y cant i access the market? everytime i click the icon it quits and takes me back to the list of apps.
