Oh I don't want to be told how in this thread verbatim, just an idea of what I'm getting myself into and if there's any speed bumps I need to look into.
Ex. The fact it took you just a day to do that, how computer savvy do you think you are? Was it a relaxing day or did you find yourself stressing?
Did all the above. D, E, don't bother me.
It Took me a day. Its all about the Root. LOL

I'm not all that savvy, so I'm might have to pay someone to hack my phone.

Android : Mattc 2.2 Froyo w/Sense 1.5

B and D are average user stuff that wont bother you at all, thats all i have done.
Ill give you a little break down. Im a Freelance TV broadcast engineer, also do networking, computer repair, Fiber optic repair. Wow starting to sound like an interview. Anyway im pretty comfortable with linux, so with that said it went somethig like this.
Reflashed phone with moded RC29, this allowed me to install an img file that lets you install unsigned updates, then i install the terminal app just a few keystrokes and i had root. then i installed the moded JesusFreke Img, this allows you to keep root from boot to boot. done.
thanks! i just read through it, i might want to attempt to learn a few linux commands just so i know what i'm typing (i.e. learn a bit about what i'm doing rather then typing blindly)
it mentions opening the telnet client, is that something that shows up with the loading? or is that already on my phone? not famaliar with it, yet?
no its an app you install from the market, that site really walks you step by step. Just take your time with it, it was kind of fun.
i say it took all day but thats with cloning my sd card just in case. and doing some research and making a sandwich. the actual flashing and all that from the site took me about 45 mins.
gotcha! i overlooked the make a sandwhich step, this definitely could be fun and tasty!
i'll probably look into it pretty heavily tomorrow afterwork, and most likely jump in shortly there after...
i just haven't heard many negatives for it, as long as you don't go running around pushing buttons in the terminal emulator (this isn't the same as the telnet client is it? or do you need the telnet to make the emulator work? because it seems he jumps quickly from one to the next in my quick reading of those steps you gave me?
