what is transit directions? turn by turn?
if so, then u can download telenav
Does anyone have an alternate way of doing this? There isn't a transit app for my area in the market, so that is out. Is there any kind of web based google maps mobile?
And as an aside, I am still so pissed at google for giving transit directions to literally every other platform except us.

Give them a break...
The underlying Google Maps platform for mobile shares a lot of common code for some areas, but each platform has a different UI.. Hence why we don't see Transit on G1.
We got Latitude first... and we got Street View at launch.
Do you really believe Google over the long run is going to keep Androids Google Maps product more inferior to other platforms? Think about that for a second.
Now bear in mind actually developing the app... Have you developed a cross platform application before...
I'm sure we will see Transit info in a future update post Cupcake...
BTW: A lot of people here moaned that TMO and Google were going to screw us and not provide cupcake... There need to be less here say and more understanding of why this stuff doesn't happen overnight. Don't like it; get the funding together and develop something better... Sorry to be blunt - but these constant moaning threads are annoying.

in other news, i could use a san diego trolley app. just saying. no, i don't write code. it'd be worth a couple bucks if anyone's interested...
it's true; they need to expand the line a little, but it's pretty decent. there's a stop about two blocks from my apartment. we had a trolley ages ago, then it was gone, then they brought it back...
Blaming UI for bad priorities on google's part is garbage. The code is mostly the same. It doesn't even come close to affecting the main UI to add two options to the transit options. Walk and transit. The database is already there for those two modes, the underlying code is already done.
What are they waiting for?
