Exclamation Separate Notification Sounds for SMS/Work Email/Email?

    Hi guys,

Thanks for any and all help it is much appreciated. Here is my question:

How can I set different individual notification sounds for txt, emails, and work emails? I'm currently connected to my job's MS Exchange, Gmail, and receive a ton of txt msgs. All of them come up using the same notification tone. I have tried looking around in all the menus and have found nothing that lets me change individual account settings as far as sounds go. I am tech savvy so I've gone through the phone pretty deep. Again any help is appreciated, thanks!

    You can't, yet easily.

You can use an app like Missed Call to set custom sounds for SMS messages. This will allow you to have any sound you like for SMS messages (i.e. different to your sound for emails).

You can then use an app like K9 for email, which will allow you to have a different notification sound for the email account you use K9 for.

You can then use the default email app for another account, which will allow you to use the default notification sound for that.

That's as best as I can think of for now.

..and use Handcent SMS for your texts and you can specify a different notification in that. In fact, you can set up a different notification for texts from different people.

after some research i have found and verified this

    From: http://androidforums.com/ally-all-th...on-sounds.html
Anyway I eventually found that if I changed the default notification to any of the phone's preinstalled tones, the correct user-specified tone is now playing in each app. But for some reason, if any user-created tone is set to be the default, the phone will play the default tone for ANY notification.

Now, i have tested this to be correct. looking further into the situation.
