Try reseating the card. Mine did this last night. The card was actually being held in by the cover instead of being clicked in. I took it out and put it back in again and it hasn't had a problem since.
So I ordered an 8gb SD Card and put it in my phone. Everything was working fine last night, I put songs on it, pictures too. Today I went in to look at the pictures and it said they weren't there, same thing with the music, then I get an "SD Card Error" I plug it into my work computer and am told it has to reformat the card...when I try to reformat it, it says windows can't.
What gives?

Hello Black G1.

Gave me the same error this morning on the stock 1gb card. Tried to play MP3 files when the player said the file types were not supported although I played them all day yesterday. Ejected the card and reinserted. Havent had a problem since.
I just tried that, it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Did you turn your phone off or anything? I just took it out (it was in all the way) and then put it back, but nothing seems to of changed.

Hello Black G1.
When u have that problem pop it out then in and after that go to sd whatever menu and click save storage or whatever click it off thenon then it should show how mich storage card hasand u shuld be good to go. It has a lot of faults and problms, but I ont care I love it I'm with it till then end
Yeah, if it's on a charger (or connected to a PC via USB) you will get stupid errors like that, along with "you don't have an SD card required for download" or something similar when downloading stuff via the browser. If you want to access stuff on the card while charging, just disable the "use USB storage" option. That will clear it all up. Otherwise, just unplug the phone when you want to do that stuff.
I've had this problem many times. It is with the SD card that came with the phone and another 1GB card I've purchased seperately. My mp3 rintones wont work, pictures don't show up, and i get the Sd card error. I take out the sd card and reinsert it again and it might work for a couple hours or so, but then becomes Unavailable. I'm tired of hearing the boring stock ringtones and not being able to view my pictures.
I'm having pretty much the same problem on my lovely new Android. I rebooted this morning to recover some settings and when it powered up, there were no songs. Tried reseating the SD card to no avail. I try browsing the card via the PC and it wants to format the SD Card. Which I 'm reluctant to do. So I'll see what T-mobile tech support comes back with.
has anyone actually got ,more realistic method, two cards have been deemed useless ,pissing me of
