Sometimes when I slide my screen it changes the ringer volume.
Okay so I go to flip my g1 open ,and as shocked as could be, I look at the phone and the screen only opened half way. Upon inspection, the hinge arm is getting hooked on a flat cable on the inside that is adhered to the inner screen and is actually peeling it up. I called tmo cs and they state this is a known issue and it primarily affects the first batch of delivered phones. They are sending me a replacement on monday. Ughhh.

At least you're getting a replacement!
Thats good customer service if you ask me.
QUESTION: Did you have a protection plan??
thanks
Long live Android!
I had the same issue. Had the phone for three weeks, then the ribbon inside the hinge mechanism got all caught and crinkled.
I thought it was just some plastic that had come loose to begin with...until the screen started distorting and not rotating when I opened the slider.
I phone T-mobile UK who said as it was over 7 days they would have to send it off for repair!
I went in to the local store who asked for all the packaging and replaced it for a new one on the spot. It was dealt with very efficiently once the store staff were involved...another example why I've stayed with T-mobile.
As for the volume switch: I've used Nokia for the last 10 years and it just doesn't make sense to me to be able to accidentally knock the ringer volume down, or up by simply pressing the volume rocker. I hope its a feature that can be switched off in a future update!
Wow, I don't have any of my packaging any more, and I don't even think I have the books and have the stuff that came with it. If something like this happens to me and they start asking for all that stuff, I'm hosed.
