    Default Replace Our speakers Petition

I want to get this online forum petition going in order to show concern about our T-Mobile G1 speaker issue. We here at AndroidCommunity have quickly become one of the go-to, if not THE go-to site regarding all things G1.

Something needs to be done quick. Maybe we can get our speakers recalled and replaced with higher, louder, clearer and all around better speakers (for goodness sakes i couldn't even hear this on the other side of my wall). Lets show solidarity behind this issue and see if maybe we can get something done.

Lets keep this simple, clean, and organized. Number, name, and location only please. Let's see how many we can get behind this one.

[I will be cleaning up the thread as it goes along. Meaning any number mix-ups aswell as any post without a number, name, and location. If you have any questions, please send me a private message.]....i might forget to do this

What Speaker Issue? I did a search of the forum and found no threads complaining about the speaker. In my oppinion the G1 speaker is better than any other phone speaker I have heard. It is not designed to listen to music on and frankly I find people who do listen to music on phone speakers to be annoying.

Please justify the point of this negative thread.

Actualy there has been threads on this, they mainly refer to the ringet not being loud enough.. Personaly mine is loud enough.. Also I have to disagree, the phone was designed to play music.. otherwise the function would not be there..

I have to agree with most of you. My speaker is fine. I use it all the time for music / speaker phone, and I'm absolutely happy with it.

I didnt even know anyone didn't like it.

Obviously the phone was designed to play music, because the funtion is there, but by the same arguement, you are supposed to listen to it through headphones... otherwise they would not be there.

My only complaint is the placement of the speakers. The BlackBerry 8-series had it perfectly: the speaker opening is placed on the top of the phone. When designing the G1, HTC overlooked an important fact: when placed on a surface, the most likely orientation for the G1 and any other similar device is for the screen to be facing up. Having the speaker opening on the back surface, opposite of the screen, causes most sounds produced to be muted when resting on a surface. The extent of the problem exacerbates when the resting surface is porous and can mold to the shape of the device. Fortunately, at least ring tones are produced in part by the front speakers.

Perhaps we need to start a 'Replace jrokwitdacapitals18 (with someone who isn't a troll) petition'.

Or "Please give jrokwitdacapitals18 a non-defective G1 so he can stop petitioning" petition
