Hmm same thing started happening to me, was writing a text message and the phone decided to shut off and restart.
Now when restarted it took a while for service to come back and text messages dont go out right away ( iget the triangle)
Ever since this morning my phone has been randomly restarting over and over every few minutes. Haven't installed anything new in a while. Any one else experiencing this issue?

First I've heard of this. have you tried factory reset, or have you taken the battery out of the phone for 30 seconds?

I've been having random restarts as well. I first noticed it when trying to use Coninuous Shoot (after recent update). It was causing force quits and restarts. Then I uninstalled it. Just now the phone restarted while I was using Stream Furious (also after a recent update) I've been listening to it for about an hour at 128kb/s... Hopefully it doesn't continue. My G1 has a stock battery, not rooted, RC33...
The phone is warm, but not hot so I hope that it is a software issue...
I too had random restarts on Sunday. Was using Snap Photo(free) and it would restart. Seems to be corrected now, I think.
Using: Samsung Galaxy S 4g on T-Mobile. Firmware 2.2.1
this has been happening to me for a couple of weeks. not very often but i would be doing something and the phone would restart on its own.
i then would look at it and give it the "WTF?" look.
havent had that problem yet, unless it does it over night when im sleep
Anybody know if there could be a problem with internal memory getting full causing a restart?
I was using Stream Furious at 128kb/s and it restarted after about 1 hour of listening.
After restart, I kept listening to same station, and it happened again a short time later.
I had 17 MB of free space available of internal memory.
Then I uninstalled Pac-Man (I love Pac-Man, but eh I can live without it).
Freed up 3 MB, now I have 20 MB available.
Started up Stream Furious again (same station). No problems for the rest of the day.
So far I would say that this doesn't necessarily prove anything. I think I'll do some more tests.
hmm, this makes me think that mebbe I should root my phone....
