Question about gps

hey guys sorry i cant seem to find any info on whether or not the G1 will have gps that a dot or something moves on the screan while you drive lets say.

can anyone tell me if this feature will be on the phone

I thought i saw somewhere that turn by turn Directions with an overlay of where you are was against the ToS

I agree. It will need to be third party app until and if Google decides to move in that direction making it part of the one of the future firmware updates.
I do not see any devices having GPS chip and not turn-by-turn app ... no, we will definitely know more once the device is out on the market

Google Maps mobile supports "My Location" which would show your dot moving on the Google Maps (satellite mode) - you could then activate some sort of application that runs behind the scenes that speaks turn-by-turn directions..this would allow you to see a picture of your surroundings as your moving - now if it could support Street View to - that would be quite AMAZING
