Default Problems with Android version 2.3.3

About a week ago my Droid 2 Global prompted me to update so I did. It updated to Android Version 2.3.3 I believe. If the update changed another system ask and I will provide those numbers. Now with the new update I am having problems. A big one is that my phone does not recognize my SD card that has never been removed from the phone, I noticed it when I was not able to take a picture. It is like the SD card is not even in the phone. My phone was rooted but nothing more was changed to the system besides a barnical teather. The other problems I am having are that the sliding keyboard does not light up anymore, the screen does not cut off during calls allowing my face to mute or end the call and the phone is no longer rooted. After it finished updating it gave a message of UPDATE FAILED but when I check for current updates it shows that the phone is current. If the problems I am having is because of the failed update then how do I find and reinstall the update?

Any suggestions, please help with this pos.

Here's a very important question seeing as how you are rooted - Did you remove any of the "stock" apps? A lot of times removing any of them will cause the update to fail. At this point, the best thing for you is to probably return to stock and update that way. This is of course provided that it just isn't a hardware failure. (Although if you're going to return it for warranty, you'll still need to return to stock anyhow.)

I did not remove any of the stock apps when I rooted it. How do I return to stock and then update it again? I have checked for the update using the "check of update" onthe phone and it says that the phone is current. If I need to take it back to verizon to have them look at it how do I remove all of the root stuff from the phone? I did not remove anything stock from the phone and did not do anything major with the phone's systems after rooting, just wanted the hotspot mainly.
