Problem connecting G1 on mac

I do not know what is going on with my phone..

when i plug in my phone via usb then click "mount" on my phone, the icons on my desktop and the top bar that says file, edit, etc starts flashing like a strobe light. i can charge my phone without mounting it but once it's mounted, everything starts flashing

can someone help me fix this? i don't know what happened because i didn't do anything different

Is it only the g1 that does that, or any external drive?

this only works on my phone. my sister also has a g1 and her phone has no problem mounting on my laptop

instead of the g1 can you put the micro sd card in a reader and plug that in to your mac

no there aren't any ports on my mac for anything like that

do you have a diff usb cable you can use, it doesn't have to be that proprietary cable from tmobile any mini usb will do

ok i tried the cable for my psp but its still happening

well its not the cable and you said the card mounts on your sisters machine, i would do a reset on the G1.

in your notification bar on the phone u will see a usb icon, swipe your notification bar open and click on the usb icon to let your phone know u are granting it permission to be used as a drive while it is connected to your mac.
