Possibly bricked G1?

Read alot of simular threads but none quite the same with a resolve. Was installing new hero spl and now it hangs at the tmobile screen, cant get into recovery or bootloader. However I turn it on it hangs at the Tmobile screen. Tried taking battery out, no sd card, new update.zup on the sd. nothing works. Any help or is it time to phone Tmobile? Havent got any insurance on it though.

your stuck on the tmobile screen right? and no matter what you do (pull battery) you will still end up back in the tmo screen?

u cant go into recovery when u pull the battery and reboot using home+power

see what i get from tht is, your stuck at the G1 screen, so tht means tke your battery out, put your sdcard in a reader and put your new firmware onto the sd, put the battery back in and hold home + power button till recovery screen, then alt + l, then alt + s for firmware update.

yeah the new spl loops on the t-mo screen so u need to pop out your battery and do what THEWAY said

p.s.
if you dont have a card reader i have a way to do it in recovery thru adb just let me know

I read somewhere once that said if you hold the camera button while booting it will take you to a recovery mode. The home key won't work if your not rooted I think

if u hold down the camera and power u will go into the spl (fastboot) not recovery and hes rooted.

I've nearly bricked my phone many times...But always came back...Can you brick your phone for good?

what most of us encounter is what they like to call "soft brick" which means its not really bricked and theres a way to make the phone work...if your phone turns on but doesnt boot up then its "soft bricked"

a "hard brick" on the other hand is when a phone does not turn on at all and your phone is f**ked

that's all true,except in one case with the 1.33.2005 spl. some of the people who couldn't get to recovery or bootloader were still getting to the g1 screen. but nothing else would work. htc could fix it by opening up the phone, but the average user couldn't. so it's still essentially a brick.
