Default phonenumber of incoming SMS gets changed

    Hi,
first of all: its been a while since I wrote something in english so be kind.

    This is my problem:

when I get a SMS from a certain person (this problem only occurs with this person, all other contacts are fine) the phonenumber gets changed to this:

    490123456789

The leading + infront of the countrycode is missing, so I cant directly reply to the SMS, I always have to start a new one using the contact from my contactlist.

This problem dont happens on my old "regular" cellphone, it happens with chompsms as well as with the build in smsapp, the contactdata in the contactlist is correct and when this person calls me the phonenumber is correctly shown (but without the countrycode). I also tried to change the contactdata to +49 or 0049 or just without the countrycode but without any effect.

    Any ideas?

Hrm - it's the correct length too. I've heard of numbers being truncated (having the start or end chopped off as they're too long), but this number is the standard length.

Does this person live in the same country as you?

Well actually the number is not the number i wrote up there.
    The correct length is:
    012345678912
I already checked if this problem is related to the length of the number but it is not. I can verify this because I send a SMS to my G1 with an old cellphone that has a number with the same length as the one above.

And yes the person lives and is actually in the same country as I am.

And on your old phone when you get an SMS message from that number, it starts +49, but on your G1 when you get an SMS message it starts 49? Is that correct?

The reason I ask, is that the number sent with an SMS message is added by the phone that's sending it. In fact, there are ways to change the senders number to anything you like, such as "Hello" if you want. So it's important to be sure that the + is not missing when you get a text from that number on your old phone.

Same here. Really annoying 'cause it's impossible to answer to a sms. It tries to send to a number beginning with 49, not with +49, it just cuts off the leading + wtf?!

Has anyone a solution or a good hint?
